Walk in unannounced like most families do, or send us a quick note before you arrive.
Time & Location
When
1st and 3rd Tuesday September through June, 6:15 pm.
We end around 7:30 pm (closer to 8:00 pm on special nights like Pinewood Derby).

Newport Heights Elementary Cafeteria

Park in the main lot and walk right in!
Who
Boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade, plus their families.
All elementary schools and homeschoolers are welcome.

Quick Answers for First-Timers
Can younger or older siblings come along?
Yes! There are almost always siblings running around and playing in the back of the cafeteria. The entire family is welcome.
Do parents have to stay for the meeting?
Yes, Cub Pack 496 meetings are a family activity so we want parents there to have fun with their Cub.
My child is shy and doesn't know any kids in the pack.
That is completely normal! Den leaders immediately assign a welcoming “buddy” to sit next to them. If your child prefers to just sit with you and watch the first meeting from the sidelines, they are encouraged to do whatever feels most comfortable.
What if we miss a meeting or start mid-year?
You can join anytime of the year! Cub Scout adventures are modular, not sequential. Missing a meeting never puts your child behind, and there are no penalties or attendance records kept.
